The Victor Education Victor Commander is designed to create a training experience that specifically meets the needs of students and families in Victor Education. There are other worldwide training programs that adapt their standardized models (military school, adventure camps, and military preparation for US military initial entry training) to meet the needs of this unique population, but the Victor Commander is not adapted, it is precisely focused toward the unique needs of Victor Education, the participants, and the families it is designed to serve.
All three programs (scout, cadet, officer) offer progressive opportunities to experience adventure and rigorous physical training while also being immersed in a leadership practicum. Victor Commander trainees apply leadership instead of simply learning about leadership in a classroom.
Key to our organizational model is that the professional leaders who lead the programs and participate in the programs are the models for the behaviors are constantly trying to imbue in the trainees. There is no substitute for leaders being a part of training! We are surrounded by programs throughout the world where people who run programs fail to model the behaviors expected of the trainees.
Young people develop with different values and experiences that shape who they are and contribute to their future as an adult. As they develop from earliest experiences, they exhibit behaviors that parents characterize as healthy and suitable to prepare them for adulthood and being productive members of society or unhealthy behaviors that need additional attention. Young people in China are immersed in an environment where they individually have pressure to succeed with strong expectations and focused overwatch from family. Along with a structured and focused environment, most students’ increased reliance on technology has enabled them to develop swift means of communication while sacrificing interpersonal engagement and a sense of teamwork.
Learning is a part of our challenge, facing demanding challenges, adversity, and reaching new goals never expected. Victor Commander is not a one-size program for trainees of all ages. We use a multi-tiered environment to expose trainees to physical, mental, and moral/ethical challenges, allowing them to achieve unexpected growth.
Colonel Paolozzi leads Victor Commander with vast experience leading American and coalition soldiers, business professionals, volunteer organizations, and students in the Boy Scouts of America. He dedicated his life to the service of others and enjoys the challenge of shaping young adults for a lifetime of growth, learning, and service to others. He had a distinguished career in the United States Army for 30 years that included leading over 4000 soldiers in combat in Afghanistan, developing future officers at the United States Military Academy at West Point, and serving in senior Defense positions. Thereafter he led the communications efforts for the Aerospace and Defense Industry, giving life to the voice of 13% of America’s workforce. Throughout his adult life he has contributed extensively to the development of young adults, from being an accomplished father of two adult children to being a youth leader in athletics, church events, and the Boy Scouts of America.
CSM Willey shares a similar lifetime of service to the United States and others. His United States Army service for over 32 years was followed by his role as a leader for a battalion of cadets in the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. His exceptional United States Army experience elevated him to the senior Non-Commissioned officer level at senior commands in the United States and in Afghanistan. CSM has been a stalwart investor in the development of professional soldiers, future officers at the United States Military Academy at West Point, and currently serves as a full-time role model and faculty member at one of the United States’ most prestigious universities at Virginia Tech.
Colonel Paolozzi and Command Sergeant Major Willey select incredibly talented career military professionals as a part of the professional staff to lead the Victor Commander programs. In addition to the professional staff members, Colonel Paolozzi and CSM Willey also have assistant instructors with unique backgrounds that join the cadre ranks for each program. All instructors uphold the highest standards of Victor Education and must undergo a United States National Background check to work with children.
